CALIFORNIA POLITICS

Orange County

The Orange County Board of Supervisors — of 4 Republicans and 1 Democrat (the first elected in 12 years in 2018) — is under scrutiny for not seeking more social service funding to address homelessness and for restricting public participation in meetings. County supervisors will decide how some of the restored funding from the Schools and Communities First initiative will be spent, so we will be working with our partner regional tables and groups on a holistic strategy to champion progressive priorities.

POLICY

California Donor Table is part of the California Dream Alliance, a coalition of progressive groups from around the state who collaboratively advocate on intersectional slates of priority legislation. The Alliance has announced our 2019 legislative priorities, including several from CDT endorsed elected officials — Senator Holly Mitchell, Senator Maria Elena Durazo, Assemblymember Ash Kalra, Assemblymember Eloise Reyes and Assemblymember Shirley Weber — on child care, workers rights, access to health care, financial support for working families and criminal justice.
